So, as mentioned in my previous post for this project I shall be focusing on the link between femininity and water. I've begun by research fish with big tail fins, such as Guppy and Betta Fish. I love their beauty and elegance as they glide through the water!
On from this I have begun to research the possibilities of carrying out an underwater fashion shoot. The idea is really exciting, and with my aim to create a feminine flowing dress/skirt made from lightweight fabric, it could display the sea creature inspiration perfectly..

BA8 - Movement
So with Christmas over, its back to reality and the start of the final part of my degree!
After having a brief tutorial yesterday, I have decided to carry on my theme of last year with movement. This term, I plan to focus on movement within water, as WGSN focuses on an aqua theme for the spring summer 2012 fashion trend, which is the context I am aiming for. However, i don't necessarily want my colour palette to reflect this, as I want to concentrate on the idea of flow, rather than water itself. I shall expand my research and drawing material, to things being placed in water, for example, pieces of material and people, and even fish... (the ones with the long fins!) I shall also gather primary research by using the wind, my first idea is to tie pieces of material and ribbon to sticks and let them flow in the wind. I shall use this idea to create a patterned design suitable for women’s fashion.
I also intend for this project to be very feminine, however, again this may not necessarily be reflected in my colour palette. This links onto the report i shall be writing about 'The Emergence of Female Designers' where I have been looking into the role of women, and how much harder it was for a female to become a fashion designer compared to men during the period before the wars.

Beginning ... Again.
So, last year I tried to create a blog which I intended to update on a regular basis. However, with the chaoticness of my lifestyle, I couldnt seem to find the time, but more so, I didnt really know what I should be writing about!
However, now in my last year at university, I feel that my blog shall become my new diary, and here I shall update on my studio work, and my personal life and share all!
So with it being the beginning of a new year, comes a new start, and a new blog!
